Michael White is a forward-thinking technology executive dedicated to modernizing K-12 education. With a passion for digital equity and strategic IT transformation, he leads initiatives that enhance learning experiences and operational efficiency.

About Me

Michael White is a visionary technology executive who is passionate about combining technical expertise with strategic vision to drive innovation in K-12 education. As a collaborative leader, he champions infrastructure modernization, digital equity, continuous improvement, and budget optimization. His extensive experience includes directing IT strategy, security, and infrastructure for multiple school districts, managing large budgets, and overseeing high-impact technology projects. As the Director of Technology Services at Garland Independent School District, Michael currently oversees the district’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital learning initiatives across 89 locations, supporting 52,000 students and 6,200 staff members. He leads a team of 112 to enhance equity, security, and efficiency through initiatives like the Ready 1:1 program, which provides Chromebooks and iPads to every student, and by implementing ServiceNow ITSM to optimize service delivery.

Michael's professional background includes positions as the Senior Director of Information Technology at Unite Us, Director of Technology Operations at Allen ISD, IT Manager at Resource One Credit Union, and a role at the University of North Texas. He earned a Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Liberty University and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University. He also holds several certifications, including CISSP, CISM, and PMP. Additionally, Michael is a US Army Veteran.

Michael is associated with several professional organizations, such as the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), and the Texas Educational Technology Leaders (TETL). His key competencies include IT leadership, technology strategy, digital equity, cybersecurity, and project management.
